Meet Dr. Molly

Molly O’Shea, MD

With over 30 years in pediatrics—as a speaker, media consultant, journalist, and medical business owner—I’ve spent my career helping families raise confident, emotionally healthy kids.

I jumped straight from an accelerated high school program into med school at the University of Michigan, followed by residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. That early immersion in diverse clinical settings shaped both my understanding of pediatric care and the universal needs of families across backgrounds. I later opened a boutique practice near Detroit and have partnered with thousands of families to raise resilient children.

Beyond the exam room, I was the “Ask the Pediatrician” columnist at The Detroit News for six years and have contributed to top parenting and medical publications. I’ve spoken on stages large and small, built multiple pediatric ventures—including a clinically integrated network—and consulted for organizations like Horizon Therapeutics, Nurture Genomics, and Goldfish Swim Schools. Government and public sector work has included everything from advising Health and Human Services under President Obama to helping the State of Michigan reimagine preschool marketing.

Lately, I focus on helping companies and communities navigate conversations around tech and mental health, inclusive environments, LGBTQ+ support, and hidden disabilities. I aim to answer the questions people are often afraid to ask.

Personally, I draw from my own lived experience. I’ve raised five kids—two are neurodiverse, one is non-binary, and one died by suicide at 17. I’ve parented through divorce, grief, joy, and growth. That journey shapes everything I do.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me painting in my she-shed, rooting for the Detroit Lions, or cooking something bold in the kitchen. I’ve got a gift-of-a husband, and when the family’s all home, we’re usually playing Rummikub or making pizza.
